Intrahepatic cholestasis is impaired bile flow at the liver level, which may be inherited (e.g., progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis — PFIC) or acquired. It presents with jaundice, pruritus, and progressive liver damage. NFZ covers genetic and biochemical diagnostics, pharmacological treatment (ursodeoxycholic acid, IBAT inhibitors), and hepatological care.
